| The Hussite Game: with Fabulous Buffet | |||
| After a prolonged, and exceptionally genteel, buffet - graced with both napkins and a surprising tray of optional sushi, club members settle in for the long expected 'Hussite Game.' The traditional rummage through multiple boxes to find figures even vaguely similar to those needed presents the viewer with a scratch built, and probably accurate, Hussite war wagon under attack by Heerban spearmen in the service of the Holy Roman Empire. No appropriate spearmen were available, so in this photo the war wagon is under attack from a batch of 'antique,' one is tempted to say 'classic,' 25mm (true 25mm) Minifig Burgundian pikemen. Since there was confusion in finding figures for the German host the Holy Roman Empire was issued with slightly more heavy bombards than might have appeared on an historical battlefield. Consequently the Hussite defensive line was pummeled at long range. The wagon in the photo is itself about to suddenly disappear. Round about turn 3 the stunned Hussites watched as the equally stunned Germans blew a huge hole in the defensive line, and then proceeded to leisurely stroll through the opening. Everyone sort of lost heart at that point. | ![]() |

| After having crushed the Hussite defenses the inexplicably victorious Germans settled in for one of the clubs traditional deserts. Well, perhaps not traditional, but certainly appreciated. | ![]() |
